Terms of Service

Effective date: July 20, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the RifleSense website and app, provided by Walnut Forge Ltd. Co. d/b/a RifleSense, a Kentucky limited liability company ("RifleSense", "we", "us"). By using RifleSense, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. Who can use RifleSense

You must be at least 17 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you, including firearms, ammunition, reloading, and range laws where you live and shoot.

2. Safety disclaimer (read this)

Precision shooting and handloading are inherently dangerous activities. RifleSense is an informational logbook and analysis tool. It is not a ballistic solver, and it is not load data.

  • RifleSense does not tell you what is safe to load or shoot. Any loads, charge weights, velocities, components, or DOPE shown in the app, including community-derived information, are records and estimates, not load recommendations or safety guidance.
  • Always verify load data against current, published data from the powder and bullet manufacturers, and follow safe handloading practice. Start low and work up. You are solely responsible for the safety of anything you load, dial, or shoot.
  • Community and aggregated data reflects what other users reported, may be incomplete or wrong, and is presented with honest but imperfect confidence signals. Do not treat it as authoritative.
  • Follow all firearm safety rules and all applicable laws at all times.

You assume all risk arising from your shooting and reloading activities. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RifleSense is not liable for any injury, death, property damage, or other loss arising from your use of the app or reliance on any information in it.

3. Your account and data

The personal app works without an account. Future community features will require an account and may require a paid subscription. You are responsible for your account credentials and for keeping your device secure. Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Paid features are sold as Apple in-app purchases and subscriptions, billed by Apple through your App Store account and managed by us through RevenueCat. Prices, billing periods, renewal, and cancellation are governed by Apple's terms and your App Store settings. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; manage or cancel them in your App Store account. Founding members receive the benefits described in the founding-member offer, which we may document separately.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse RifleSense. You agree not to: submit false or fabricated data to community features; reverse engineer or disrupt the service; use it for any unlawful purpose; or infringe others' rights. We may suspend or remove access, and exclude contributed data, for violations, including through community moderation once it exists.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the data and photos you create. By opting in to contribute data to community features, you grant us a license to anonymize, aggregate, and use that contributed data to operate and improve the community insights. This license applies only to data you choose to contribute.

7. Intellectual property

RifleSense, its name, logo, software, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Some on-device models or datasets may include third-party components under their own licenses, acknowledged in the app.

8. Disclaimers

RifleSense is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We do not warrant that the app or any data in it is correct, complete, or suitable for any decision you make.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RifleSense and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your shooting or reloading activities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100 if you paid nothing.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We will post the new effective date here and, for material changes, provide notice in-app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or to RifleSense will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
